Este trabajo analiza la red de Cercanías de Madrid, a través de un enfoque basado en
la teoría de grafos, con el objetivo de identificar puntos críticos y proponer soluciones
que optimicen su funcionamiento. Se estudian las propiedades topológicas de la red
ferroviaria, evaluando su conectividad, centralidad y robustez. Los resultados muestran
que la red de Cercanías de Madrid presenta una alta dependencia de ciertos nodos
estratégicos, lo que la hace vulnerable a interrupciones en puntos clave. Estos
resultados se comparan la red de Cercanías con otras redes ferroviarias de referencia.
Este análisis ofrece una visión integral de la situación actual de la red de Cercanías de
Madrid para facilitar futuras soluciones que contribuyan a mejorar su eficiencia y
sostenibilidad en el futuro.
This article analyzes Madrid's commuter rail network using a graph-theoretic approach,
with the aim of identifying critical points and proposing solutions to optimize its operation.
The topological properties of the rail network are studied, assessing its connectivity,
centrality, and robustness. The findings indicate that Madrid's commuter rail network is
highly dependent on certain strategic nodes, making it vulnerable to disruptions at key
points. The results are compared with the commuter rail network with other benchmark
rail networks. This analysis provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of
the Madrid commuter rail network to facilitate future solutions that will contribute to
improving its efficiency and sustainability in the future.
