Pons Riera, supone un nuevo avance muy importante en el conjunto de la geografía lingüística española. Pretendemos ofrecer un análisis detallado de la metodología empleada en la preparación y elaboración del atlas, así como una descripción crítica de sus características formales y contenido lingüístico, con especial atención a la variación dialectal. Asimismo, ofrecemos un sucinto análisis del Petit Atles Lingüístic del Domini Catalá, dirigido por J. Veny y publicado en 2008, destinado a un público más general. The Atles Lingüístic del Domini Català, which first volume appeared in 2001, directed by J. Veny and L. Pons Riera, supposes a new and very important advance in the field of Spanish linguistic geography. We want to offer a detailed analysis about the methodology used in the preparation of this atlas, as well as a critical description of its formal characteristics and linguistic content, with special attention to the dialectal variation. Also, we offer a brief analysis of the Petit Atles Lingüístic del Domini Català, directed by J.
