"Andanças e viajes": el otro Pero Tafur Martínez García, Pedro Ediciones Universidad de Valladolid Edad Media El presente artículo tiene como objetivo el estudio de la alteridad y de la descripción de lo ajeno en el libro de las Andanzas y viajes de Pero Tafur. Acercándome al discurso del viajero, analizaré las muestras de empatía y de rechazo que Tafur manifiesta ante la visión de lo ajeno: otras nacionalidades, diferentes grupos sociales o valoraciones de género; así como la construcción que el autor desarrolla de su propio yo a través de la descripción de lo visto o escuchado. Para esto he utilizado el relato del viajero (la ed. Jiménez de la Espada, 1874: Andanças e viajes de Pero Tafur. Por diversas partes del mundo avidos 1435-1439) además de diversos estudios realizados sobre el mencionado relato. También serán de importancia algunos estudios sobre filosofía y literatura. Este ensayo concluirá dibujando a un Tafur a caballo entre dos épocas, interesado en dar una determinada imagen de sí mismo marcada por la observación de lo ajeno y que se nos antoja como todo un manifiesto de renovación a los de su misma clase social. This paper aims at the study of the otherness and the description of the external in Pero Tafur' s book Andanzas y viajes. By approaching the narrator's voice, I will analyze the evidence of empathy and refusal which Tafur shows when facing the external: other nationalities, different social groups or judgments about gender; as well as the construction of self which the author employs by the description of what he has seen or heard. For this, I have used the text of the traveller (1st ed. Jiménez de la Espada, 1874: Andanras e viajes de Pero Tafúr. Por diversas partes del mundo avidos 1435-1439) I have additionally used different essays on the story. Some works of philosophy and literature will also be taken into account.
