<dc:title>La nueva lexicografía electrónica: análisis comparativo con las tendencias en Asia oriental</dc:title>
<dc:creator>Pérez García, Jesús</dc:creator>
<dc:subject>Lexicografía</dc:subject>
<dc:description>Western and far-Eastern lexicography differ in their origin and conception. With the globalization,&#xd;
many lexicographical trends tend to expand across the world. However, there are&#xd;
some attitudes and technological differences between West and East, mainly those concerning&#xd;
the use of pocket electronic dictionaries&#xd;
The research published on this paper analyzes those divergences and tries to explain them&#xd;
according to the different historical tradition of dictionaries, as well as the sociological and&#xd;
educational backgrounds. Particular attention is granted to Japan, the leader in quality handheld&#xd;
electronic dictionaries, and China. Surveys were conducted among Japanese and Chinese&#xd;
students, and four pocket electronic dictionaries were examined in detail.&#xd;
