Escuela Universitaria de Educación (Soria) K1 Enseñanza del inglés K1 Educación primaria AB A gifted child is that whose intellectual quotient is superior to 130. Although it isunusual to find one of these children in classrooms, around the 4% of the schoolstudents are gifted. Many of them are not identified as such and thus do not receive theeducative assistance that they need.If this happens, these children can reach the point of feeling so bored and demotivated atschool that their academic output becomes rather low and their intellectual potential willnot be developed. To prevent this, teachers have to be prepared to identify thisintellectual phenomenon and attend the needs of this type of students correctly. In the present Project, the characteristics of these children will be described with thepurpose of facilitating their identification and, furthermore, I will offer an interventionproposal focused on the English area as a second language which attends their needs.
