A1 Vargas Aragón, Martín Lorenzo K1 Esquizofrenia AB Using a new scientific paradigm, chaotic-deterministicdynamics, our research group developed a new cognitiveinstrument which is administered by means of a computenthe Test of Random Rhythm Generation (ARG). Theoreticalbackground and preliminary results in two young male, defectual schizophrenic patients (paranoid type) are herepresented. Basic symptoms were explored by means of theFrankfurt Complaint Questionnaire of FBF (FrankfurterBeschwerde-Fragebogen) and the Bonn Scale for the Assessmentof Basic Symptoms of Gross et al. Possible relationshipsbetween cerebral complexity and basic symptomsare discussed. It is concluded that the ARG is a valuabletechnique to measure the patient's cognitive potential aswell as his complexity level (or cerebral chaotic dynamiccomplexity). Finally, it is hypothesized that defectual psychoticpatients genérate more rigid and rhythmic seriesthan control groups. Further work must be done in this newresearch field.
