RT info:eu-repo/semantics/article T1 De la propaganda cultural al proselitismo fascista: las escuelas italianas en España (1922-1943) A1 Domínguez Méndez, Rubén A2 Ediciones Universidad de Valladolid K1 Historia moderna y contemporánea K1 Fascismo-Italia AB When the power was taken by fascism the Italian schools abroad suffered a gradual fascistation. This process increased since 1926 by the intention of converting the young people in propagandists of totalitarian ideology. In Spain this situation increased the number of centres that were subsidized by dissemination of Italian language and culture. Similarly, the school that the Italian colony of Barcelona had been launched since 1878 was controlled directly from Rome and, in similar conditions, was created a new institution in Madrid. As seen in this study the fascists’ calculations crashed with student Italian enrolment data and his desire to do a proselytizing with the young Spanish.
