AB The history of Roman Villas from Valladolid is analysed and their limited patrimonial prominence until the recent times too. Then the vicissitude of the villa of Almenara de Adaja is drawn: discovered in 1887, forgotten until Gratiniano Nieto’s archeological excavation in 1942, lessened throughout half a century of abandonment, too many interventions, good intentions and no patrimonial protection until the agreement between Diputación Provincial of Valladolid and University of Valladolid in 1997, the total recovery of the site and the creation of MVR (Roman Villas Museum), inaugurated in 2003.
