A considerable amount of literature around methods and approaches to be followed has appeared since the Renaissance period, considered the turning point for educational changes. It is from Humanism onwards that different interpretations emerged on whether to use form-focused methods or, conversely, more communicative ones. Moreover, and despite some contributions on using Literature in the process of learning a foreign language, nobody has examined the use of History as a tool for the EFL classroom. The purpose of this M.A. Thesis is thus to examine and show how History can be perfectly used to learn English, both using ITC and following a mixture of methodologies in which the Task-based Approach stands out. For such purpose, a lesson plan using History in this way will be described as a way of proving this idea. Despite its complexity, it hopes to prove that the proposed activities are perfectly suitable for learning English.
