The government of Adolfo Suárez established in 1978 the Department for European Communities, led by Leopoldo Calvo-Sotelo, who pushed forward the negotiating process. Calvo-Sotelo pointed the information program as a priority of his projects: the idea of explaining spaniards the sense of the Common Market, the arguments to access and the consequences of get it. The article has the basis on unpublished documents of his personal Archive, and offers the main ideas and projects that were carried out from the Department for European Communities.
