RT info:eu-repo/semantics/article T1 Las excavaciones del conde Byron Khun de Prorok en Cartago (1920-1925): la colina de Juno y la difusión cinematográfica de la arqueología cartaginesa A1 García Sánchez, Jorge A2 Ediciones Universidad de Valladolid K1 Arqueología AB This article focuses on the Count de Prorok and his excavations at Carthage and other Tunisian archaeological sites. In the early 20s' Prorok gathered a group of amateurs interested in the Classical world, and supported by important French archaeologists and thanks to private funding led the excavations of a Roman house on the Hill of Juno. Until 1925, his activities in Carthage also covered the study of Phoenician necropolis, the beginning of the excavations of the Tophet -whose land was acquired by Prorok- and the aerial exploration of the city, in order to determine the position of the Punic ports. Among the Count's working methods was included the film recordings, which attracted the attention of the common people as well as investors, whose donations allowed him to continue his research in Carthage.
