RT info:eu-repo/semantics/article T1 Transformación económica y reconversión productiva en Sinaloa: 1890-1950 A1 Frías Sarmiento, Eduardo A2 Ediciones Universidad de Valladolid K1 Historia moderna y contemporánea AB This analysis focuses on the economical transformation occurred in the State of Sinaloa as a result of the fact that mining ceased to be the mainstay of such State, which torch was taken up by agriculture, thus, standing out both, at domestic and international level. Within this development, agriculture suffered significant transformations; it abandoned traditional growing, producing and trading forms and placed itself in the so called commercial agriculture. Such agriculture, characterized by produce specialization and the needs of markets located far away from the producing centers resulted in a reconversion thereof; therefore, without abandoning traditional produce such as cereal, vegetables, sugar cane and others, the agricultural business persons cultivated as they still do today a wide variety of horticultural produce for the international market, being tomatoes in the lead.
