RT info:eu-repo/semantics/article T1 Oscuro sobre claro: consideraciones en torno al hidrónimo "Luxia" A1 Ledo Caballero, Antonio Carlos A2 Ediciones Universidad de Valladolid K1 España-Historia K1 Historia antigua AB The hydronym Luxia, one of which uses Pliny to refer to rivers near to Huelva, has been considered traditionally derived from an Indo-European root close to the meaning of "clear" or "bright". The dark waters of the Odiel and Tinto advise to find another etymological solution for the hydronym. These dark rivers printed a peculiar religious bias to the territories that cross, explaining the emergence of sanctuaries linked to underground deities.
