AB The Historical Library of Santa Cruz of the University of Valladolid has in its custody a manuscript written during the second half of the 17th Century by a preacher linked to the Diocese of Calahorra and La Calzada, conceived with a clear intentionality homiletics. This paper analyzes the emblematic material which he used in support of his doctrine, with special protagonism to the Imprese Sacre of the Italian Bishop Paolo Aresi, along with other authors that make it a revealing text of the reach of Emblematic Literature in Spain and its utility in the service of Sacred Oratory in the Spanish Golden Age.
