AB The paper describes a comparative study of the cities and its surrounding villages created in the Italian Agro Pontino under the fascist administration and the colonizalion villages created in the Spanish province of Cáceres by the Instituto Nacional de Colonización under the Franco administration. The influence of Italian case on the Spanish one, and the similarities and differences between both models, particularly in terms of urban planning and design, architecture, fine arts and ideological dimension, are analysed.
