The case studies used are aimed to widen mathematical teachinginstruction. Set theory is chosen because of its fundamental application inMathematics. Elementary set theory concepts such as element of set, empty set, subsetand De Morgan’s law are used. Each case presents a teaching and learningdeficiency or key moment of decision made when marking the work of students.
