RT info:eu-repo/semantics/article T1 The acquisition of motor skills A1 Wichmann, Klaus A2 Ediciones Universidad de Valladolid AB The main aim of Physical Education is teaching children howto cope with situations that demand physical activity. The creation and organisation of such situations by the teacher is closely connected with his or her understanding of education and movement. If education is considered a means to enable a child to educate itself and if movement is seen as a means of communication between a child and its surroundings, the acquisition of the necessary competences to deal with such situations can only be achieved by an active confrontation with the teaching objectives. This is particularly successful if the children take responsibility for their own learning process and the creation and organisation of their physical education lessons.Based on the conditions mentioned above the following article describes the authors' didactic concept of howto teach Physical Education illustrated by practical examples.
