RT info:eu-repo/semantics/article T1 La educación física como disciplina curricular en una escuela republicana: notas para pensar la formación del profesorado A1 Fensterseifer, Paulo Evaldo A1 Jaime González, Fernando A2 Ediciones Universidad de Valladolid AB This text presents a consideration about the task of thinking about school Physical Education (PE) in a republican institution, aswell as the professional formation in this field.Althoughwe do not assume completely its theoretical perspective,we locate ourselves within the movement for the renewal of Brazilian PE, which has tried to give our discipline a new role in the school setting. A role that is not limited to the mere �exercising for�, but it emphasizes its position as a syllabus component capable to embrace a systematized knowledge.We assume that the republican school is an inalienable achievement because of its significant rol in modern societies confronting the challenges that emerge in our daily democratic experiences.This comprehension shapes our conception of school PE and, from that perspective, we pay attention to some aspects related to the demands towards the formation of a professional who will have to handle the inherent responsibilities of this institution and, particularly, of PE.By doing so, we reflect upon the training process of the PE teachers.
