Methods: sample with 104 adults of both sexes, divided into 3 groups: G EXERC+SCHOOL - 49 students doing curricular and extracurricular activities ; G SCHOOL - 34 students doing curricular activities; G SEDENTARY - 21 sedentary students. We used questionnaires, evaluation of physiological parameters and body composition. We used the Mann-Whitney test, analysis of variance and Spearman's test, with p ≥ .05. Results: G EXERC+SCHOOL obtained results statistically different in terms of systolic and diastolic blood pressure, triglycerides and BMI in comparison to G SEDENTARY. There was a positive correlation between BMI and waist circumference, and between some variables. Conclusions: The practice of supervised exercise and periodization appears to contribute to the improvement of some physiological parameters, promoting greater functionality and decreasing the likelihood of metabolic and cardiovascular diseases.
