AB The purpose of this essay is to show how Physical Education constitutes a technology of the self that tends to the desubjection/desubjectification and the care of the self. To do so, the categories of body and subject are considered, together with some of Foucault's concepts used in The hermeneutics of the subject. Along those same lines, an approach to think about Physical Education in a not traditional way is presented in order to expand the horizons of comprehension of the discipline and make possible the emergence of new perspectives within Physical Education.
