We define teaching as a body profession and therefore we advocate that more attention should be paid to the body dimension of teaching, of teacher education, as well as of the reseach in such fields. We are putting our trust in investigating, through narrative research in the form of body autobiographies and body teaching logbooks, on the body traces that affect the way in which teachers become involved in teaching and reconceptualize the term.In this paper, we identify four major areas where the teacher’s body dimension is particularly present: health and energy; emotions; communication and relationships; and the teacher´s body image. To conclude, we provide three examples of areas for further reflection which could be the result of taking into consideration the body dimension within teaching.
