AB Since Brexit is quite a recent event, few studies have been published so far and none have focused on either of the videos part of UKip’s Brexit campaign. This dissertation is focused on uncovering the ways in which UKip’s ideas are portrayed in one of their Brexit campaign videos entitled “We’re Better Off Out.” An introduction to multimodal critical discourse analysis is provided as well as a brief summary of this campaign. The methodology used primarily draws upon Machin and Mayr’s (2012) comprehensive toolkit as regards multimodal analysis to examine this video both textually and visually.
