AB Dystopian literature is mostly based on the representation of an apparently perfect andegalitarian society in which individuals have been completely dehumanized and theirindividuality completely eradicated. Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World (1932) and RayBradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 (1953), two of the most representative novels of this genre, portray two perfectly alienated societies. While in the Huxley’s novel the dystopiansociety works through a system of rewards and indulgences, both physically and mentally,in Bradbury's work the same social homogeneity is effected through a system of terrorand violence. This thesis carries out a comparative analysis of both novels to contrast themethods used to carry out the massive suppression of individuality YR 2018 FD 2018 LK http://uvadoc.uva.es/handle/10324/33424 UL http://uvadoc.uva.es/handle/10324/33424 LA eng NO Departamento de Filología Inglesa DS UVaDOC RD 02-dic-2024
