Facultad de Filosofía y Letras K1 Literaty translation K1 Text analysis K1 Traducción literaria K1 Análisis textual K1 5701.11 Enseñanza de Lenguas AB The objective of this paper is to review the Spanish translation of the HarlemRenaissance novel The Blacker the Berry originally written by Wallace Thurman and todisassemble the translation process carried out by the translator Susana Prieto Mori.With this as a backdrop, the methodology adopted in the present paper is based on themodel for translated-oriented text analysis proposed by Nord on the one hand and theseven translation procedures proposed by Vinay and Darbelnet on the other. Morespecifically, the present analysis will be carried out first by listing the principletranslation problems faced by the translator and then by explaining the preferredtranslation procedures used to overcome them. The conclusion will be drawn based onthe results of the analysis in order to evaluate the effectiveness and faithfulness of thetranslation.
