In the context of Roman times, Virgil was already writing in the first century about thepower of rumor. In the Second World War, the Nazis used propaganda to manipulate thecitizen or in 1938, when the journalist Orson Wells broadcast the first radio fake news story. The phenomenon of fake news has burst with greater relevance in the current century. The loss of quality journalism of past times and the arrival of a journalism with immediate effect, makes that the lack of time in journalistic work harms the generalfoundations that regulate the behavior of journalists. The scarce verification of sources, the competence to be the first to publish information or the immediacy and instantaneityof messages that circulate in social networks, increases the possibilities of bad choice of information. Two clear examples of the proliferation of fake news today are the US elections of 2016 and the Brexit in the United Kingdom. In this context, the media and institutions have already launched initiatives to combat this phenomenon.
