For velocities comparable to the speed of light, thefull relativistic electromagnetic equations must be used. In the absence of gravitational forcingsand with an isotropic Ohm’s law, it is proved that for poloidal magnetic field and velocity andtoroidal electric field, the electric and magnetic energies tend to be equivalent in average for largetimes. This represents a partial extension of Cowling’s theorem for axisymmetric fields.
