This paper analyses the different alternatives for electric vehicles, the road that has already been travelled for this transformation, the advantages and disadvantages of each of the different alternatives that exist today at a technical level in order to be able to glimpse the projection of these vehicles, which are a growing trend nowadays. On an ecological level, the aim is to understand whether they are really an effective alternative today and the improvements and investment necessary to achieve the objectives set by the institutions for the reduction of greenhouse gases.
