The film provides the opportunity to reflect onsociety, among other things, on the big screen. The rise of the Hollywood industry allowed for thecreation of a wide variety of characters, including those belonging to minorities. Women, a sociallyvulnerable group, have always had a certain role in such motion pictures. Through the study offilms from different decades such as Gone With the Wind (1939), Sunset Boulevard (1952), orAnnie Hall (1977), popularly known worldwide, we analyze how social contexts influence thecreation, stereotyping, and representation of female characters.
