This essay deals with the study of different POS of thefunctional word as in different TED Talks being classified by their function and topic. Morespecifically, it is the study of the frequency and use of as as a preposition and conjunction ontwo sub-corpora with the help of the software Sketch Engine. It aims to show the process andselection criteria to compile a corpus, to study the usage of the preposition and conjunctionas, and to manually analyze the errors that the software could be made. The results show thatthe preposition as is used to a higher extent in both sub-corpora, and consequently, in thewhole specialized corpus. Keywords: As, TED Talk, corpus, YR 2021 FD 2021 LK https://uvadoc.uva.es/handle/10324/51585 UL https://uvadoc.uva.es/handle/10324/51585 LA eng NO Departamento de Filología Inglesa DS UVaDOC RD 23-nov-2024
