AB The social impact which the widespread use of mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) has had on daily life implies the need to embrace them into the teaching-learning process as a natural element. The present work describes a training experience provided to future primary school teachers in the use of apps which might benefit geography teaching. Answers from a preliminary survey carried out revealed that students’ prior knowledge of the topic is scarce. Activities were conducted in the university classroom using certain apps and the results highlight how positively the tools used were viewed by students.
