AB Background: Many alterations in extracellular metabolismof calcium have been associated to hypertension, butthe number of studies relating this disease with osteoporosisis extremely low. This study clarifies the therapeuticeffect of three treatments— quinapril, quinapril   hydrochlorothiazide(HCTZ), enalapril—on bone remodelingmarkers, bone mineral density (BMD) in hypertensivepatients, and relationship with angiotensin converting enzyme(ACE) polymorphism.
