AB The following B.A. Thesis presents a study on the journey that Prince Philip of Spain made to England to celebrate his marriage to Queen Mary I on 25 July 1554. By drawing on the Spanish relaciones de sucesos written by Andrés Muñoz (1554), Juan de Barahona (1554), Fray Bartolomé de Miranda (1554-55), and four anonymous manuscript carta- relaciones (1554), a chronological reconstruction of circumstances and events is provided, focusing on the dates and most significant episodes, as well as the attitudes and personal stand that the authors display regarding Prince Philip, the English people, and the Queen of England. An attempt will be made to identify the degree to which those relaciones could have used propaganda in their news reporting.
