Escuela de Doctorado K1 Educación infantil K1 Formative Assessment K1 Evaluación Formativa K1 Pre-service teacher K1 Formación Inicial K1 5312.04 Educación AB This doctoral thesis presents four scientific publications that study the importance of Formative and Shared Assessment (F&SA) systems in the Pre-Service Teacher Education ofEarly Childhood Education. Through the different research studies, the influence of these assessment systems on the self-perception of students' competences, as well as on the improvement of their academic performance, is analysed. In addition, the combination ofthese assessment systems with the good practice of Tutored Learning Projects is analysed. Similarly, a study is carried out on the satisfaction of students and teaching staff with the F&SA systems, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of this system. For this purpose, longitudinal studies are carried out over several academic years with a descriptive quantitative analysis (arithmetic mean, mode and standard deviation) and inferential analysis (Student's ttest). The results show that students feel more competent after the implementation of F&SAsystems and that this type of assessment seems to have a positive influence on their academic performance. The combination of Tutored Learning Projects and F&SA systems have very positive results and students consider it to be a useful methodology with a number ofbenefits. Therefore, student and teacher satisfaction with F&SA systems is high or very high; and, moreover, students consider that this type of assessment has more advantages than disadvantages. This doctoral thesis may be of interest to teachers in Pre-service Teacher Education and other educational stages who want to implement this type of assessment systems in their classrooms. It may also be of interest to those responsible for developing educational curricula and subject plans in different universities of initial teacher training. The main limitation of this thesis is that the research has been carried out in the same public university. As a prospective, it is interesting to check the results obtained with otheruniversities and degrees that carry out F&SA systems. In addition, the results obtained can be compared with other degrees, courses and groups that have received a more traditional assessment.
