The translator aims to represent the samemessage as in the Source Text, employing translation techniques to achieve it; however, this is not a work that has been done yet. This thesis focuses on a comparative analysis ofthe translation techniques proposed by Hurtado (2001) in two translations of Alcott'snovel, one from 1973 and the other from 2021, with the aim of observing which is themost used and how they modify the text. The results show that the most used techniqueis discursive creation, and that a simplification can be seen in the language of the 1973translation. Finally, it is possible to establish that it is impossible to separate the contextfrom the translation, since there is a direct relationship between language and culture thatinfluences the translation process within society.
