AB The internationalization of the agri-food sector in Spain has led to anexponential increase in writing and translation services from Spanish toEnglish. In this socio-economic context, the methodology used to developGEFEM is described. GEFEM is a corpus-based tool that assists translatorsand technical writers in producing dried meat product cards in English. Theoutput offered to users is based on quantitative and qualitative corporaanalysis of dried meat product cards. This corpus-based writing aidincludes the prototypical rhetorical structure with the most frequent movesand steps, the main model lines, the lexicogrammatical patterns, and abilingual terminological database.
