AB Urbanization causes major changes in environmental systems, related to carbonbalance, rainwater interception, air pollution and energy saving of buildings, asconsequences of environmental changes. As such, industrial areas are less wooded due tothe construction of the enterprises, which often represent vast urban areas. The Nature-Based Solutions (NBSs) seek to mitigate the anthropic effects of urbanization throughinspiration in nature, promoting urban transformation, making cities more pleasant. Thus,the present work intends to characterize the area of study and the present vegetation, builda base of inputs in the software i-Tree Eco, using it to simulate the environmental benefitsof the NBSs (foreseen in the scope of the POCTEP INDNATUR Project), in the IndustrialZone of Cantarias (Bragança), and define a scenario based on the intervention data of theproject and alternative formulations. The methodology begins with data collection andmeasurement of tree parameters, including chest height diameter, total height, land use,crown health assessment (dieback) and exposure to crown light. Through the i-Tree, it ispossible to evaluate the potential impact of the NBSs, especially on air conditions, as ameans of supporting the project under study. It also allows to quantify the structure, threats,benefits and values provided by forest populations worldwide, assist in the management and defense of trees and forests, show potential risks to the health of trees and forest andifin research of forest services of the USDA (Department of Agriculture of the UnitedStates).
