Other authors have investigated audiovisual translation and how slang behaves, butnone interrelate these disciplines in Tarantino’s cinema. The present thesis focuses on thetranslation techniques applied, considering the restrictions imposed by dubbing and externalinfluential factors. For this purpose, after the identification of slang, its original structure iscompared to the Spanish version to find out which are the techniques employed in theadaptation of this linguistic variation between languages, and the influence of differentfactors in the final result. The results show that the predominant technique is substitution andconclude that their selection is motivated by the function of the product and the addressee.
