AB In recent years literature is gaining more and more importance with regard to its role as alearning resource in the EFL classroom. However, there are still some educators who arereluctant to include literature in their syllabus. Therefore, this dissertation explores thebenefits of using authentic literature –specifically short stories– as a way to develop and workon English language reception and production skills. In addition, a didactic proposal isoffered to demonstrate this, and it includes activities based on the two short stories written byRay Bradbury (“A Sound of Thunder” and “The Pedestrian”).
