A range of themes and activities that encourage students in their learning process are offered through the use of literary texts, such as brief stories. This project provides just one of the numerous methods in which short stories can be utilized to educate not just language, but also to stimulate students' societal awareness, analytical thinking, and appreciation of English literature. This master’s dissertation seeks to demonstrate the significance of utilizing literature and the benefits it brings to the process of teaching a foreign language. The topics presented by short stories can be extremely captivating for students and, due to their qualities, they are, among other things, conveniently manageable for students and instructors. By selecting a short story that raises universal inquiries about societies and human behaviour within them, this proposal aims to demonstrate a method of working with all these components, to encourage teenagers to perceive the world with a more practical and receptive mindset toward the society they reside in and those surrounding them.
