AB In this Final Degree Project he carried out a study on prison work in Spain.I will explain the bases of Penitentiary Law in order to understand how the work carriedout by inmates is currently essential and constitutes an element of prison treatment.Subsequently, I will carry out a chronological evolution from the moment that theprisons arise and how the work in its beginnings is configured as afflictive, exposing thedifferent institutions that characterized forced labor in Spain.In addition, I will expose the legislative evolution from the first laws that classify workas a main penalty to the present where prison work is regulated by various regulatorybodies.Through the successive current laws regulating this matter, I will explain how thisactivity is carried out and its main characteristics.Through this work I intend to give a historical vision that shows how prison work hasevolved from really ancient times to the present day.
