AB This doctoral thesis investigates the strategic role of national football leagues as a catalyst between geopolitical management and countries' soft power. The study proposes an innovative conceptual and empirical framework through comprehensive and interdisciplinary analysis, emphasizing the significance of national football leagues as pivotal instruments for cultural diplomacy and soft power. The research employs qualitative and quantitative methods and analyses cases from the Chinese Super League, the English Premier League, and LaLiga. It provides insights into how international orientation enhances soft power and influences key organizational aspects in sports management, such as competitiveness and efficiency. The study reveals that investment in football development and strategic international orientation is crucial in strengthening the industry's competitiveness and a country's soft power. Thus, it demonstrates that the efficient management of leagues and their competitiveness, including investment in talent and football infrastructure, can significantly improve a country's global cultural image and influence.
