However, certain circumstances, especially related to the themes and circulation of his texts, led to his figure gradually falling into oblivion, eventually disappearing completely from the canon of our Golden Age Literature. In fact, only two plays of his theater has been done in the last century, both of his most successful comedy: "El esclavo del Demonio", by Máquina Real and Teatro Espada de Madera Companies. Although the recovery of Antonio Mira de Amescua's theater has been studied by some critics, the most important researchers were Aurelio Valladares for his Bibliography and Agustín de la Granja, who led the research group "Aula-Biblioteca Mira de Amescua" and coordinated the edition of the playwright's complete theater. However, the progress in Digital Humanities and the establishment of new researchers groups have been necessary a review of previous work and a new proposal focused on the study of the circulation of his theater. This includes issues such as the analysis of autograph manuscripts and their writing process, the authorship of certain texts and their degree of authentic, censorship and the performances over time. The goal is to showcase and understand the reasons why Mira de Amescua does not hold the place he deserves in our theatrical landscape.
