However, such situations are often underestimated by the professionals themselves. This phenomenon leads to descriptions of experiences that clearly demonstrate how, in this research process, performers use different methods in fields such as musicology, pedagogy, performance and ethnography to conduct their research. This thesis seeks to highlight the need to explore alternatives to certain scientific research considered as such, so that rigour and exigency are not excluded from them, including questioning whether performative currents satisfy the demands in this type of research. The aim of this research is to catalogue the oboe compositions created by Valencian composers between 1950 and2020.Through the experience expressed in this work, using a qualitative methodology and the design of interviews as one of the tools for obtaining data, we can see how important it is for performers to carry out a research process in the face of the problems that arose in relation to the creation of a certain repertoire (works for oboe by Valencian composers), with the aim of being included in recitals, unaware of the existence of relevant material. The resolution of this conflict involves the performer in a research process that he does not directly master, since it has not been addressed in his pre-existing training, although it is immersed in his daily work, emerging as a consequence of the development of his instrumental practice and the preparation of various recitals, and, therefore, in the search for new repertoire, as is the case here. The research has facilitated an exhaustive exploration in the understanding of works for oboe by Valencian composers, essential for the expansion and enrichment of the musical corpus of the Valencian Community. There are compositions for solo oboe of notable interest, pieces for oboe with band accompaniment and works for oboe with orchestral accompaniment. Furthermore, through the diligent research involved in this study, chamber music compositions incorporating the oboe have been discovered. This research study, apart from providing us with data concerning works for oboe by Valencian composers, has the particularity of providing a subjective perspective on the composition of such pieces. Such a perspective is derived from the interviews conducted, complemented by an individualised didactic proposal for each work, aimed at facilitating the analysis and potential study of the compositions in question.
