AB This research aims to analyze how digital media represent political women in Castilla y León. We have chosen this topic because of the importance that the study of the role of women in today's society has gained in different areas, including politics.We have focused on the representation of political women in the digital press because we consider that decisive decisions are made on a daily basis around politics and it is essential to study how the media transmit this to the population. Qualitative and quantitative analysis has been used to analyze, develop and specify the objectives set. The sample that we have collected are 245 journalistic pieces, 115 from the 2011 electoral campaign and 130 from the 2015 electoral campaign from three digital newspapers in Castilla y León: diodeleon.es, eladelantado.com and elnortedecastilla.es.In this thesis we want to check the quality of these journalistic texts and know the opinion of the politicians and policies of the moment and the population in relation to this topic. To do this, we have carried out interviews with politicians and a survey of the population and in this way complete the documentary information that we have collected.We have concluded that the media analyzed show women politicians as the protagonists of their information in smaller numbers than men because the majority of men participate in regional institutions. On the other hand, men and women receive the same treatment by digital newspapers when they are protagonists of journalistic texts.
