AB The boundaries of music known as classical have long been blurred; numerous artists explore the concert as a work that integrates various arts and technological resources. Our research focuses on the redefinition of the traditional concert format, transcending the role of the performer to become a creator and a multifaceted artist, who, in addition to performing the music, assumes responsibilities of stage direction or as a musical actor, thus expanding the possibilities expressive of musical interpretation.This thesis highlights music as an intrinsically multidisciplinary art, advocating a new conception of the concert as a dramaturgical space where various art forms converge. Through an artistic research methodology adapted to the creative act, this thesis aims to create a stage concert with the saxophone as its central instrument. Our main objective is to study the situation of the traditional concert and create a concert that offers an attractive experience for the public.The collaboration with composers such as Paul, Escudero, Méndez or Frank has given rise to a set of works of various kinds, created with gestural content, with video, electronics or forming a sculpture of hanging instruments, which modify the sound of the saxophone. These works are part, in turn, of the main result of our research, the Saxophone + stage concert.In this context, we seek to transform two fundamental elements of representation: space and the public. Also, it is intended to abandon the traditional stage in favor of greater interaction with the audience and the use of the entire stage space. Likewise, the transformation of the public is sought, which abandons its traditional passive role. Saxophone + is presented as an introduction to a new conception of the instrumentalist and the solo concert, which redefines both the performer, the concert and the audience.Finally, the research reveals that the traditional concert format does not satisfy the needs and expectations of a part of the current public. Likewise, technology can be used to enhance the concert experience.
