It primarily centres on quantitative andqualitative analysis of innovative examples that have been extracted, classified, andexplored within Guy Haley's novel, Dark Imperium. The main aim of this paper is tounderstand how these new words are born and the most effective methods for theiracceptance in our everyday vocabulary, both in English and Spanish. Initially, the studyframes a theoretical discussion about lexical innovation and the characteristics of thisgrammatical process. This is followed by a description of the methods employed toanalyse and interpret the distinctive terminology found in the novel. Following this, aquantitative scrutiny of all samples and a qualitative analysis of the most frequently usedterms are performed. These findings exemplify how the process of creating new words issuccessfully achieved through the amalgamation of modern English and the ingenioushandling of classical languages, mainly Latin and Greek. Thereafter, through thediscussion section, it is made clear why innovation is important for the natural evolutionof language and intercultural communication, especially in the science fiction context. Finally, the study ends with a brief conclusion reviewing the most important goals. Theannexes present the raw data for all findings, alphabetically displaying each word'sindexes, translation methods, and the used etymological origin.
