The study applies Carl Gustav Jung and Joseph Campbell’s archetypal theories to Cassandra Clare’s’ Infernal Devices trilogy. Therefore, by analyzing the narrative structure, the role of the protagonist and other significant characters, the intention is first to verify whether the author's work follows or not the conventions associated with these genres. Secondly, to determine the level of accomplishment her work presents, and lastly, to find out if there have been modifications that significantly affect this inherited and everlasting tradition that indicate the creation and exploration of new literary trends and paths.
