A comparable ad-hoc corpus for both fruits was compiled from websitesof fruit retail businesses. We analyzed references to texture, i.e. the vocabularyused and the most frequent collocations in both languages. Explanations arecharacterized by a wide variety and density of terminology used quite straightforwardlyto describe texture and mouthfeel sensations with great precision. Texturalproperties are presented mainly with descriptive adjectives and specificnouns, with a difference in usage depending on the language used and fruit varietybeing described.
