The aim is to thoroughly study historical and political discourse, among other topics, to determine whether he or his closest collaborators genuinely wrote the speeches attributed to Franco. Some historians argue that Franco, whose regime was based on a cult of personality and centralization of power, was a charismatic leader capable of eloquent and persuasive speech. However, some suggest that due to Franco's extensive agenda and lack of academic training, it is likely that a team of advisers and propagandists drafted his speeches. This uncertainty is further compounded by the lack of documentary evidence that definitively clarifies the issue of authorship. Despite the available historical resources, including speeches and official correspondence transcripts, experts have yet to reach a clear consensus about the author of Franco's end-of-year messages. This ambiguity has led to various theories and speculations, some suggesting that the speeches were a combination of Franco's ideas and those of his collaborators. In contrast, others point towards the possibility that they were written entirely by third parties.By harnessing the latest advancements in the field of Digital Humanities, with a particular focus on Digital Stylistics and Stylometry, this research endeavors to conduct a stylistic analysis of the speeches delivered by Franco to extend New Year's greetings to Spanish citizens. These speeches will be juxtaposed with other contemporary documents such as letters, memorandums, and speeches delivered on other occasions by General Franco himself or by different individuals in his inner circle. This approach aims to unearth similarities and differences in content, structure, and tone in these speeches, thereby determining whether they were the product of a single author or a collective effort.
