It seeks to understand how these elements: architecture, urban landscape and daily life, shape the collective identity of the place and the city of Managua. The physical, urban and historical understanding of this space will serve as a starting point for the reconstruction of the historical memory of a city, taking into account that it has developed independently of its historical center. It will also serve as a basis for the comprehensive strategic management and sustainable development of the historical ensemble. This study addresses the physical and material aspects of urban cultural heritage, as well as the narratives and symbolic meanings associated with the historic center. In addition, it explores the socioeconomic and political dynamics that influence its current evolution, seeking to propose possible future strategies to promote the revitalization and preservation of this important cultural legacy for Managua and its future generations. In order to carry out this study, it was necessary to characterize each of the phenomena, particularly marked by situations of disaster and destruction, which have reconfigured its urban structure and functionality, making a heritage assessment of the site, evaluating the management modalities, and assessing its potential as a public space. This work focuses on promoting the integral development of historic sites as part of a sustainable and resilient city model that harmonizes cultural heritage with the needs and challenges of contemporary development.
